Now you can enjoy Florence AND the nearby hills on a mountain bike! we've already taken a few groups on this combination city and countryside tour.
Biking through the old city center of Florence, we will see the traces of its long and rich past, with its beginnings as a Roman town through its artistic heyday during the Renaissance.
we'll take time to enjoy some of the most important monuments and piazzas, like the Piazza della Signoria and also visit some of the lesser-known sites, such as Andrea del Sarto"s frescoes in the Chiostro dello Scalzo.
Our route then takes us up above Florence, to the Piazzale Michelangelo and the stunning romanesque church, San Miniato al Monte.
Then, following a small road behind the church, we are suddenly in the country, riding through the pine forest of San Miniato and then along the narrow roads that wind through the hills, past grand villas, cypress trees and small, country churches.
Descending back into town, the views of Florence and the surrounding mountains are unforgettable.
we'll then head to the famous Cascine park, former hunting grounds of the Medici family and now a favorite place to while away a sunny afternoon, with its shady lanes, horse race track, amphitheatre and amusement park..
