This moderate tour is in the heart of the Chianti wine region, with its lush vineyards, olive groves, cypresses, farm houses and medieval churches.

we'll transfer by van from Florence to San Casciano, a hilltop town surrounded by vineyards and quiet country roads. Our descent from San Casciano to the Terzona river and then a gentle ride through the valley will be a good warm up for our climb to the church of Campoli.
A dual-track in the Chianti
The views are stunning from this point on, as we enjoy some rollercoaster hills and then a final ascent towards the town of Badia a Passignano, site of a beautiful medieval monestary.

we'll lunch at a nearby agriturismo and enjoy the fruits of their labor, including their olive oil and Chianti wine.

The afternoon's ride will include a beautiful descent back into the valley, past an Etruscan tomb, perched dramatically on a hill overlooking the valley, and the medieval castle of Bibbione. The more experienced mountain bikers may opt for a more technically challenging ride through the woods.

The final ascent along a wooded trail to San Casciano is challenging but will no doubt add to your sense of accomplishment at the end of the ride.
