Our
third day will certainly be a highligh

t
as we ride on quiet country roads to
Siena,
one of the most beautiful and interesting medieval towns in Italy.
We'll arrive in town by late morning, after a short ride.
There will be plenty of time to explore the riches of Siena, such as its
incomparable
Cathedral and the Piazza del Campo,
a beautiful medieval square built on a down-slope, making it the perfect
place to sit, relax, eat gelato and people-watch.
We'll taste some local treats, like ricciarelli and panforte, and learn
about the event that defines Siena, the annual
Palio
horserace.
It is a most amazing and
unique display of pageantry
and tradition dating back to the Middle Ages.
After the visit, you will be picked up and whisked away back to Florence.
If you plan to stay a few days in Florence, we will be more than happy to
set you up with a
bike tour of the historical
center, or take you on a mountain bike ride in the
Colli
Fiorentini, the beautiful hills around Florence or in
Vinci,
native town of the famous Leonardo.
